Achmer, currently known as Bramsche, is a town situated in
the district of Osnabruck in Lower Saxony of Germany . The city of Bramsche
(Achmer) is located about 20 kilometers from the district of Osnabruck at the
geographical location of 52° 24′ North 7° 59′ East. It has a population of
about 31 thousand people. The town of Bramsche
(Achmer) is a small town in the terms of area, with an area of just 183.32
square kilometers. It has a low density of population, of just 169 people per
square kilometers. The town of Bramsche
(Achmer) is situated at an elevation of 44 meters above sea level. During 1971
to 1972, twelve municipalities that were previously independent were included
into the town of Bramsche
(Achmer). These included Balkum, Achmer, Epe, Malgarten, Evinghausen, Engter,
Hesepe, Kalkriese, LappenStuhl Schleptrup, Pente, Sogeln and Ueffeln. Of these,
Kalkriese is famous for being the battle site for the Battle
of the Teutoburg Forest .

Achmer is situated in Norther Europe and hence the climate
there is mostly cold throughout the year. During winter, it is mostly snowed
in. Hence the best time to visit Achmer is during the summer months from April
to July. You can reach Achmer by train. The railway station is located on the
famous Oldenburg to Osnabruck railway route. Nord West Bahn
operates the train services provided between Oldenburg
and Osnabruck .
Bramsche (Achmer) also has a regional airport known as the Achmer Airport .
It is located just 2 nautical miles southwest of the city of Bramsche (Achmer). This is an airport that
supports only general aviation services. It does not have any schedules for any
kind of commercial airlines.
