Ganderkesee is a municipality situated in Oldenburg district of Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated on the northern perimeter of the Wildeshauser Geest nature park. The city of Ganderkesee is a very small city in terms of area, with an area of just 138.26 square kilometers. The northern part of the community of Ganderkesee falls in the glacial valley of the town names Weser. It is bordered by the sandy, hilly and higher terrains of Geest on its southern side. The city of Delmenhorst borders its east and Hude borders its west. Lemwerder and Berne fall on its north while Hatten is to its south. The city of Ganderkesse has twenty five smaller hamlets and a population of about 31,200 residents. These hamlets are namely, Stenum, Steinkimmen, Schonemoor, Schlutter, Schierbrok, Rethorn, Neuenlande, Immer, Hoykenkamp, Hoyerswege, Holzkamp, Hohenboken, Hengsterholz, heide, Havekost, Habbrugge, Gruppenbuhren, Falkenburg, Elmeloh, Burstel, Bookhorn, Bookholzberg, Bergedorf, ALmsloh, Ganderkesee. It has a population density of 224 people per square kilometers.

Weather and best time to travel

Ganderkesee is a picturesque town which is located in Northern Europe. Hence it is mostly snowed in during the winter months. The best time to travel to Ganderkesee would be around the summer months of April to June. You can reach Ganderkesee through the partner city of Chateau du Loir, which is located near the French Border. It also has an airport named Atlas Airport. This is Ganderkesee’s regional airport.
