description and overview
Abakan is the
capital of the Republic of Khakassia, situated in Russia. It is located in the
central part of the depressed area of the Minusinsk region of Russia and at the convergence of the Abakan and the Yenisei
Rivers. The Abakan River flowing through it is where the city derives
its name. This city was founded in the 17th century and has a rich
history. There is a history of the existence of a palace, which possibly
belonged to the Han Dynasty of China. This is a huge palatial ruin
of a castle spread over an area of more than 1500 square meters near the
district village named Askyz. These ruins of the castle are believed to have
housed the high ranking officials of the Han Dynasty who preferred to live
luxuriously outside the borders of the Han Empire. Moreover, during the late 18th
century, a huge number of Lithuanians were exiled to the Abakan
region who chose to rebel against czarist rule that prevailed during those
times in Russia.

You can reach the city of Abakan by river transport, by air as well as
by railway. The city has a river port. The nearest railway to the city of Abakan is the Abakan Taishet Railway junction it is a very
important railway station. The Abakan
international airport supports schedules of commercial airlines and thus, can
be reached by air as well. the best time to visit Abakan
would be during the summer months between April to September. During this
period, the temperature remains comfortable and warm and remains sunny for most
of the days. If you want to have a vacation, be sure to avoid the winters,
because Russian winters are especially infamous for their harshness.
