City description and overview

Bottenhorn is a small district that is located in the town named Bad Endbach, in Germany. Bad Endbach is located in the central part of Hesse state’s Marburg Biedenkopf County. It is just 15 kilometers east from Dilleburg and 20 kilometers west of Marburg. The undulating Bottenorner plateaus and the wooden hills border the small town of Bad Endbach in the north. The town of Bad Endbach has a large forest that covers almost 33 percent of the town. For this very reason, if you want to have a short, adventurous trip in the forest, this is just the place for you. The town itself is a small one in terms of area, having an area of just about 41 square kilometers and a population of around 8500. This is indeed a quite place to spend a relaxing vacation. The town is full of mountains, hills, forests and highlands, that will give you a sense of serenity and peace.

The history of the district of Bottenhorn is one that dates back as far as the stone ages. The whole town of Bad Endbach displays traces that human life was quite settles since then. Among the attractions worth visiting in and around Bottenhorn are three Ortswüstungen and the remnant ruins of an old castle, various beautiful parks, museums, viaducts and tunnels. The best time to visit Bottenhorn would be during the summer months of April to August. The winters in Bottenhorn are pretty snowed in, although winter sports are also very popular, including skiing. The summer sports include hiking, and mountain biking.
