Lusse, France

City description and overview

Lusse is a very small commune of the Vosges Department in Lorraine, located in France. In the French republic, a commune is the lowest level of administrative division. These communes are equivalent to a township. Lorraine is located in the northeast of the country of France. Needless to say, the commune of Lusse is very small, both in terms of area as well as in terms of population. It is spread over an expanse of just 19.49 square kilometers and has a population of 454 residents. The commune is a small and peaceful locality that is perfect for a quiet and hassle free getaway. The picturesque houses and colorful lawns and gardens in front of the postcard houses give it an air of a holiday dream. Lorraine shares its borders with three different countries, namely, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany. Its history has a lot of influences from the Second World War.

Weather and best time to travel

The Region of Lorraine has a lot of German influences, which is quite evident once you go there. The Region forms a part of the Paris Basin. It also houses the mighty Vosges Mountains and is a plateau relief that has been cut by several river valleys. Many rivers of the Rhine drainage basin cut through Lorraine. These include Moselle, Meuse and Meurthe. The climate prevailing upon the commune of Lusse, thus, is an oceanic climate with continental influences. The best months to visit Lorraine would be the months of May to August, during the summers. The winters are pretty much snowed in starting from October. Ocean storms, on the other hand, are a major climatic concern.
